we made camp near dry creek, which flowed from scotts lake. it snowed for a few minutes as we sat next to the fire during dinner. ryan is toasting his naan bread for dinner.

out of focus handheld astro photo made while hiking through a sparsely canopied section of the trail. though technically flawed, i like this photo because it reminds me of the dreamlike awe i was in when seeing this scene above my head. though a clear night, the temperature was near freezing and would continue to plummet into the 20s overnight. the thermometer in my tent would read 22 degrees right after sunrise while the wind chill probably put it in the teens.
